GIS training for the community

During June 8th to the 14th 2010 a group of 4 experts came down to La Cusinga in a mission, to teach 4 specific groups of our communities about GIS. What is GIS?
According to ESRI:
“A geographic information system (GIS) integrates hardware, software, and data for capturing, managing, analyzing, and displaying all forms of geographically referenced information.
GIS allows us to view, understand, question, interpret, and visualize data in many ways that reveal relationships, patterns, and trends in the form of maps, globes, reports, and charts.
A GIS helps you answer questions and solve problems by looking at your data in a way that is quickly understood and easily shared.
GIS technology can be integrated into any enterprise information system framework.” (http://www.esri.com/what-is-gis/index.html)
The four experts are:
Charlie Fitzpatrick, K-12 Education Manager, at ESRI  http://www.esri.com
Sandy Doss, Vice President of Academic Offerings of Holbrook Travel http://www.holbrooktravel.com/
Anita Palmer, GISETC http://www.gisetc.com
Roger Palmer, GISETC http://www.gisetc.com
